Herbs are a great way to not only add an extra layer of flavour to a dish or drink but to also provide our bodies with some noteworthy health benefits.

1. Shiso

Widely used in Asian cooking, shiso leaves have been shown to possess both antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.

A relative of parsley, cilantro is high in vitamin A as well as antioxidant and antibacterial properties.

3. Basil

5. Parsley

One of the most widely used culinary herbs, parsley is a powerful antioxidant and is also rich in vitamin K, an essential nutrient contributing to good bone health.

6. Sage

A herb native to the Mediterranean, studies using sage have shown that this potent plant can help lower blood glucose levels.
